Web Browsers and Security

There are a variety of different web browsers that will allow you to surf the Internet with relative ease. Microsoft claims that their Edge browser blocks 99% of Socially Engineered Malware. Chrome and Firefox with the right add-ons have ad blocking, privacy, security, and encryption capabilities. Opera has built-in ad blocking, an integrated VPN (Virtual Private Network) solution, and a clean interface…without adding a thing.

The choice is yours, but my advice is to make sure your browser is capable of blocking ads. Ads invite endless opportunities for scams and malware to invade your life and computing lifestyle. Secondly, private mode or private browsing protects you from nosy companies and their data analytics. Lastly, find a reputable antivirus product that is free for home use, promotes frequent updates to your web-enabled applications, and scans for browser-based or email attached viruses and malware.
